Songs Ringo sings lead?
Ringo joined The Beatles in August 1962. From the start there was generally a 'Ringo song' on which he sang lead vocal on every EP and LP.
In chronological order the official UK releases were as follows:
- ‘Boys’ Please, Please Me, 1963
- ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ With the Beatles, 1963
- ‘Matchbox’ Long Tall Sally (EP) 1964
- ‘Honey Don’t’ Beatles for Sale, 1964
- ‘Act Naturally’ Help, 1965
- ‘What Goes On’ Rubber Soul, 1965
- ‘Yellow Submarine’ Revolver, 1966
- ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ Sergeant Pepper, 1967
- ‘Don’t Pass Me By’ 1968, The Beatles [The White Album]
- ‘Good Night’ The Beatles [The White Album]1968
- ‘Octopus’s Garden’ Abbey Road, 1969
Act Naturally was a last minute addition to the Help album. It replaced a Lennon & McCartney composition 'If You've Got Trouble', which was recorded but then junked. It was eventually released on Anthology.
Writing Credits
Two songs Don't Pass Me By and Octopus's Garden are credited solely to Starkey. On Honey Don't Ringo shares the credit with Lennon and McCartney.
